Full biographyThe Empty Sail Takes the Wind follows two young men from a small village in Crete whose lives are shaped by war, loss, and the choices that follow. After a devastating act of violence claims the life of Yanni Sfakiotakis's beloved cousin Eleni, he and his closest friend Nicko are drawn into the resistance alongside a mysterious outsider whose quiet influence will define their understanding of courage and restraint.
In the years that follow, their paths diverge — Nicko remains in Greece as the country fractures under political unrest, while Yanni emigrates to America, building a life, a family, and a future that never fully escapes the past. When the man responsible for Eleni's death resurfaces years later, the question of justice returns, forcing them to confront whether the past can ever be left behind — or only carried.
Two additional novels currently in progress.
